The day-support centre supports the care and educational functions of the family by providing day care and providing the child with help in learning, organization of free time, development of interests, organization of games and sports activities, material assistance if possible, and a meal. The centre is constantly working with the child's family. In addition to the above-mentioned, the specialised centre conducts sociotherapeutic classes, therapeutic, compensatory and speech therapy classes, individual correction programs, and provides help in school, family, peer and personal crises. The centre operates throughout the year, on all working days, at least 4 hours a day, hours adapted to the needs of children and parents. For a small number of children in need of care, the number of days and hours of operation can be adapted to local needs. An individual work plan, residence card, participation card in specialist classes and medical examination sheets are kept for each child. The head of the centre is also an educator. Stay in the above facilities is voluntary and free of charge, and the child's parents or guardians should actively participate in educational activities organized in these centres. The centres interact with people and entities operating in the local environment. They can organize a hostel.
