Social contributions by type of contributors

Social contributions measure financial resources paid to social protection schemes to secure entitlement to social benefits such as pensions, healthcare and unemployment support. The dataset quantifies contributions by type of contributor, distinguishing employers’ actual and imputed contributions, employees, self-employed persons and pensioners or other protected persons. Values are expressed in monetary units, per inhabitant and as shares of macroeconomic aggregates such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and total receipts.
