Social protection receipts measure the financial resources collected by social protection systems to fund benefits and administration costs. They cover social contributions by employers and protected persons, general government contributions from earmarked taxes and general revenue, and other receipts such as property income and miscellaneous items. Data show the level and structure of these receipts over time, expressed in monetary units, per inhabitant, and as shares of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and of total receipts.
