Vital statistics divided into urban and rural areas

The base for a calculation of all demographic rates (per 1000 population) is average number of persons residing in given area (voivodship, powiat, urban/rural area); for annual data it is the population as of 30th June. In years 1999-2009 base for a calculation of all rates was population registered for permanent stay. The infant death rate is calculated in relation to live births in the same period. Indicators relating to the number and structure of the population (gender, age group) since 2020 have been recalculated in accordance with the balance sheet prepared on the basis of the results of the National Census 2021.
