Inflation accounts for most of Burundi’s GDP increase
Burundi’s GDP at current prices rose from 13.95 trillion to 20.36 trillion Burundi francs in 2025, a 46% increase and the highest reading in data going back to 1980. The headline mostly captures inflation rather than a matching increase in production.
