Statistical news for KoreaSouth Korea’s quarterly average equities index climbed 39.8% from Q1 to 420.66 in Q2, the highest reading in the IMF series that starts in Q1 1978. The index was also 285.3% above its Q1 2016 level.
Korea’s seasonally adjusted nominal GDP rose 10.5% from Q4 2025 in Q1 2026, reaching the highest level in a series that begins in Q1 1960. The increase was concentrated in business income rather than spread evenly between companies and workers.
Korea’s seasonally adjusted exports rose 18.9% from Q4/2025 to Q1/2026, reaching 1,880,511.7 million in current-price, purchasing-power-adjusted US dollars. That is the highest reading in an OECD series stretching back to Q1/1960, while a separate volume index also moved higher.
