Bank capital distribution became less lopsided
Weighted skewness in Georgian banks’ Tier 1 capital-to-assets ratios fell from 7.24% in Q1/2026 to 4.68% in Q2/2026, the lowest reading in an IMF series that begins in Q1/2023. The 2.56-point drop concerns the shape of the distribution, not the amount of capital across the banking system.
