How to connect Monitly to ChatGPT

Monitly gives ChatGPT read-only access to official statistics (100,000+ datasets for 150+ countries from Eurostat, OECD, the World Bank, the IMF, WHO and national statistics offices). Every number comes with its source, dataset and period.

  1. In ChatGPT open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode (available on paid plans).
  2. Choose Create app, name it Monitly and paste https://monit.ly/api/mcp/public as the MCP server URL.
  3. Set Authentication to No authentication.
  4. Start a chat, open the + menu and select Monitly to use its tools.
  • Workspace admins on Business and Enterprise plans control whether members can add custom apps.

Cost and limits

Monitly's public MCP server is free and needs no account or API key. A fair-use limit of 300 requests per user per day applies.

The tools are read-only: search_catalog, inspect_dataset, get_dataset and get_series. See the MCP documentation for parameters, or the GitHub repository.
